TESTIMONIALS

LOVE this restaurant!

Have been dining here for years. The quality of the food is top notch with an excellent sake selection. We travel from south Brooklyn, 2 trains and a bus, an hour and half, and happy to do so. (C.H.)

A classic sensibility

A gem of a place. A classic sensibility where authentic and tasteful food is made with all the right choices of fresh ingredients. Simplicity and quality are artfully woven together by these folks. ( T.N.)

A Real Gemstone

The food in this place is very tasty, a real gemstone in the middle of Forest Hills. (J.R.)

Celebrated our Anniversary with a lovely Omakase Dinner

My partner and I have been to Japan a few times, and Katsuno is the real deal, some of the best Japanese food we’ve had stateside. We just celebrated our anniversary with a lovely omakase dinner from here. Everything was fresh, expertly prepared, and beautifully presented, even in a to-go format. Service is friendly and thoughtful. Strongly recommend. (E.B.)

The best Japanese restaurant in Queens!

Hands down! Delicious and authentic food served with professionalism. Been coming here for years and will continue to. (S.M.)

We enjoyed the extraordinary environment and the menu

I had an awesome time in this restaurant. We enjoyed the extraordinary environment and the menu. The staff members are super attentive. I am content we finally managed to visit this place. (A.C.)

Another amazing dinner from Katsuno.

Our favorite authentic Japanese restaurant in NYC came through for us once again, this time with take-out. Tonight we had the Tuna Avocado Salad, Nigiri Sushi, Pork Hirekatsu, and Tempura Udon. All served with a refreshing can of Funaguchi Kikusui Sake. Everything was fresh and delicious as always and served curbside in a safe no contact manner. Thank you Katsuno! (Steven G.)

Superb authentic Japanese cuisine served in a calm delightful atmosphere.

Superb authentic Japanese cuisine served in a calm delightful atmosphere. This is a neighborhood gem of a restaurant worth seeking out for any dining occasion. Those in the know about Japanese food will find an exceptional variety of wonderful dishes to choose from, along with an excellent sake list. The team behind the restaurant are completely dedicated to their craft and very welcoming. The ingredients are quality, and the preparation and presentation are true to Japanese cuisine as one may experience this in Japan, an amazing country I have had the great pleasure to tour several times. Every visit here I try a new dish, and am continuously pleased with the variety of offerings. Try something new here, you’ll be delighted. Truly a favorite restaurant of mine. Be sure to make a reservation as they often book up and walking in is usually discouraged due to the intimate space and capacity. Highly recommended. (OpenTable Dinner)

Excellent Chef-Owners Dine

This is a Japanese restaurant where chef-owners dine. I know because I had a lovely conversation with one during this visit to cozy yet excellent Katsuno.
My self-designed tasting menus typically start with the zensai - 3 small plates of the chef's choosing. Usually one is kabocha, the other two vary. Consistently delightful way to open the palate.
This time, I ordered a first course of madai from Japan (!), unagi and 1 other white fish (senior moment-please pardon me). Beautifully prepared and presented.
The tenzaru soba was perfect for a post-beach re-entry into urban life. This is a rare neighborhood gem, worth the trip. One of the finest,( OpenTable Dinner)
